Micronizes plastic pellets and regrind flakes into high-quality fine powder (20 to 120 mesh) for PVC compounding, rotomolding, and coating processes.
The Plastic Pulverizer (high-speed disc-type / turbo-type plastic micronizer) is specialized size-reduction equipment designed to mill thermoplastic pellets and pre-crushed regrind flakes into uniform, high-quality fine powder ranging from 20 to 120 mesh (approx. 125 μm to 850 μm). It plays an essential role in PVC pipe/profile recycling, rotational molding (rotomolding), carpet backing, textile coating, and high-speed compounding applications where fine, consistent particle size and rapid thermal fusion are critical.
Operating under high-velocity centrifugal and aerodynamic shear, the pulverizer features precision-balanced rotors, high-wear alloy steel grinding elements, integrated water cooling, and pneumatic negative-pressure conveying. To match the distinctive thermal and rheological properties of different polymer families, the equipment is engineered around two core milling configurations:
1. Disc-Type Plastic Pulverizer (High-Shear Serrated Tooling)
Engineered predominantly for Rigid and Semi-Rigid PVC (pipes, window profiles, vinyl sheets, foam boards), ABS, PC, and general post-industrial regrinds. It employs a stationary grinding disc and a high-speed rotating disc fitted with interlocking radial serrated teeth. As material enters the central feed throat, centrifugal force accelerates the particles through progressively tightening tooth clearances. The high-frequency shear and attrition micronize rigid regrind into 20–40 mesh powder in a single pass. Both discs and housings incorporate internal water-cooling jackets to suppress friction heat and prevent polymer softening or thermal discoloration.
2. Turbo-Type Plastic Pulverizer (Vortex Aerodynamic Milling)
Specially developed for heat-sensitive polyolefins, particularly Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE), LDPE, HDPE, EVA, and PP used in rotational molding (rotomolding). Utilizing a high-speed multi-wing impeller spinning inside a circular serrated stator ring, the turbo rotor generates powerful aerodynamic micro-vortices and rapid impact forces. This fluid-energy milling action produces smooth, spherical particles with excellent dry-flow rates and high bulk density (critical for bubble-free rotomolding fusion) while maintaining lower chamber temperatures than traditional mechanical disc mills.
Closed-Loop Classification & Dust-Free Operation
Both disc and turbo pulverizer systems operate under continuous pneumatic negative pressure. Pulverized powder is immediately extracted from the milling chamber by an induced-draft blower, passed through an aerodynamic cyclone separator, and fed into an integrated rotary vibrating sifter (vibro-screen). Particles meeting the target mesh discharge continuously via an airtight rotary valve into big bags or silos, while coarse tailings are automatically routed via closed-loop pneumatic transfer back to the grinding throat for re-milling. A reverse pulse-jet baghouse filter captures all ultra-fine dust, ensuring 100% dust-free workplace emissions and total material recovery.
