The short version
This website keeps exactly one thing in your browser: your own answer to the measurement question. It asks before it measures anything, it works completely if you refuse, and your answer never leaves your browser.
What is stored without asking
Your consent choice. When you press Accept measurement or Reject, the answer is written into your browser’s local storage under the key nz-analytics-consent.
- It is not a cookie, and it is never sent to our server — we cannot look it up; it lives in your browser alone.
- It is what keeps the notice from coming back on every visit.
- Clearing your browser’s site data for this website removes it, and you are asked again.
Besides that answer, the site sets no cookies for visitors. WordPress — the software the site runs on — sets session cookies only for signed-in staff, and the forms set none.
What is measured after you accept
Three measurement tools are configured on this site. Their code is printed on every page but held inert — as plain text the browser will not run — until you accept:
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymous usage statistics about how pages are used. No names, no contact details.
- Google Analytics 4, through Site Kit — page and event counts, so we know which machines and articles draw interest.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics — traffic counts.
Once you accept, the tags run as their publishers wrote them. Some of the providers then set their own cookies or browser storage, under their own privacy policies. What they measure stays anonymous usage statistics; it is not joined to your inquiry.
What never happens
- Nothing is measured before you accept — not on this visit, not on the next.
- If you reject, nothing runs on later visits either. The site does not ask again and does not nag.
- No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, nothing sold.
- Every function of the site — reading, searching, the forms, attachments — works exactly the same without acceptance.
Changing your answer
Use Cookie settings in the footer of any page. Your new answer replaces the old one at once. Clearing the site’s data in your browser has the same effect. What the accepted measurement means in practice is also described in the Privacy Policy.
If the tools change
This page lists the measurement tools actually in use, and nothing else. If one is added or removed, this page is updated first.
