The situation

Where this project started

A project is read from the conditions it began with — the profile, the background and the constraints are the customer's, and the result only means something beside them.

Customer goal

Placeholder text. Hold the filler content steady without lowering the output of the line.

Customer profile

Placeholder text. The profile below describes no real company: it is written to show where the customer description sits on the page. In a real case study this field carries the anonymised profile agreed with the customer.

A compounder running one extrusion line, producing filled polypropylene grades for injection moulders, with the plant in Europe.

Project background

Placeholder text. The line ran with the filler added at the extruder throat, and the filler content of the finished compound moved inside a batch.

Initial conditions

Placeholder text. One extrusion line, manual loading of pellets and filler, no buffer between loading and extrusion, and roughly 12 m2 of free floor area with 4.5 m of headroom.

Key constraints

Placeholder text. Production could not be stopped for more than the agreed window, and the existing line had to stay usable while the new section was installed.

Delivery

What was delivered, and why it was chosen

The scope below is what this project actually received; the configuration snapshot is the one agreed for this delivery, not a current product sheet.

Why this selection

Placeholder text. A batch blender was chosen over continuous blending because the plant checks the grade per batch, and because the working volume could be confirmed from the measured bulk density of the filler.

Project-specific customization

Placeholder text. The discharge height was changed so the existing platform could be reused, and the control interface was matched to the line PLC.

Delivered scope

  • Equipment Batch blender HRM 1000 with a pneumatic discharge gate

Makes the blend that removed the drift seen at the extruder throat.

Discharge height adapted to the existing platform.

    1 set
  • System Buffer bin with level indication Sized for one full batch

Holds one batch between the blender and the feeder.

Includes the level sensor and the support frame.

    1 set
  • Accessory Dosing lance for the coupling agent Lance and pump

Adds the liquid component during blending.

The storage tank is on the customer's side.

    1 set
  • Service Commissioning support One visit plus remote guidance

Checks the blend with the customer's own sampling method.

Fees confirmed for the project and the region.

Verification

How far the project is verified

A stage is written down only when there is evidence for it; a project that is running says so, and a project still in the factory does not claim more.

  1. Factory Tested

Placeholder text. The blender was assembled and run without load before packing; the ribbon clearance and the discharge gate were checked.

  2. Shipped

Placeholder text. Shipped in one wooden case, with the control panel travelling inside the case.

  3. Installed

Placeholder text. Installed on the existing platform over two days, with the line stopped only while the new section was connected.

  4. Commissioned

Placeholder text. Three batches were blended with the customer’s own components, and samples from the top and the bottom of each batch were taken by the customer.

  5. In Operation Verified

Placeholder text. In operation since the commissioning week, on the shift pattern of the plant.

Results

What changed, and what backs it

Every result names its evidence. A number without the method and conditions behind it would not be a result worth quoting.

Filler content variation within a batch

1.8 0.6

% absolute (demonstration figures, not verified)

Placeholder figures. The filler content measured from the top to the bottom of a batch moved less than before, on the customer’s own samples.

Placeholder text. The plant kept the output of the line unchanged after the blending step was added.
