Overview

What this machine does

Grinds plastic runners, defective molded parts, hollow containers, and sheet scrap into uniform regrind flakes for immediate recycling.

The Plastic Crusher (high-speed precision granulator) is the universal size-reduction workhorse across injection molding, blow molding, thermoforming, and plastic recycling plants. Engineered to process rigid sprues, heavy injection runners, defective molded parts, blow-molded bottles, sheet skeleton edge trims, and pre-shredded plastic fragments, it rapidly shears bulky scrap into uniform, high-bulk-density regrind flakes (typically 8 mm to 14 mm) that can be immediately reintroduced into production extruders or injection molding machines.

Available in both standard heavy-duty central execution and fully soundproof (quiet / silent granulator) configurations, the machine adapts to both centralized recycling departments and direct beside-the-press operations where low ambient noise (< 80 dB(A)) is required. High-grade alloy tool steel knives—predominantly premium SKD-11 (JIS) / D2 (AISI) vacuum heat-treated to 58–60 HRC—ensure superior edge sharpness and wear life across standard polymers and abrasive filled compounds.

To match different scrap geometries, the cutting rotor accommodates multiple blade designs: universal Flat Blades (平刀) for general rigid plastics and sheets, Paddle / Flake Blades (片刀) for hollow containers and bottles, and Claw Blades (爪刀) for thick solid sprues and heavy lumps. Supported by an external outboard bearing housing and a high-inertia cast-steel flywheel, the crusher provides clean, low-dust shearing with high energy efficiency.

V-Shaped Progressive Scissor Rotor Geometry

Rotary knives are arranged in a staggered V-shaped scissor cut against stationary bed blades, shearing scrap progressively from outer walls toward center. This concentrated shear action slashes peak motor draw, minimizes fines and dust, and prevents material accumulation along chamber walls.

Optional Soundproof Acoustic Insulation (Quiet Crusher)

Available in standard open-frame format or fully acoustic soundproof execution (quiet granulator). The soundproof configuration incorporates double-wall insulated damping sandwich panels and baffled curtains, keeping sound pressure < 80 dB(A) for quiet operation in close proximity to molding machines.

Material and process

Where it fits — and where it does not

Read the conditions together: a machine is selected for the material and the output, not from its name alone.

Materiales y condiciones adecuados

The universal high-efficiency granulating workhorse for injection molding shops, blow molding plants, thermoforming lines, and centralized plastic recycling facilities.

Processes a wide spectrum of rigid, flexible, and engineering thermoplastics, including Polypropylene (PP), Polyethylene (HDPE, LDPE), Polystyrene (HIPS, GPPS), ABS, Polycarbonate (PC), Polyamides (PA6, PA66), Polyoxymethylene (POM), PET, and PVC. Available in standard open-frame format for central granulating rooms, or acoustic soundproof execution (quiet crusher) for beside-the-press recycling directly on molding shop floors.

Equipped with application-tailored blade profiles: Flat Blades (平刀) for universal plastics, sprues, and sheet scrap; Paddle / Flake Blades (片刀) for hollow containers and bottles; and Claw Blades (爪刀) for solid lumps, heavy runners, and tough engineering resins.

Limitaciones y cuándo no aplica

High-speed precision granulator; operational boundaries include:

  • Oversized purge blocks (>15–20 kg): Dense solid lumps will stall high-speed rotors; must be pre-shredded by low-speed single-shaft shredders first.
  • Tramp metal inclusions: Ferrous fasteners or bolts instantly chip hardened tool-steel knives; infeed magnet grates or metal detectors are mandatory.
  • Acoustic noise consideration: Granulating brittle engineering resins (PC, glass-filled PA) on open-frame models exceeds 90 dB(A); specify soundproof quiet models for shop floors.
  • Thin stretch films & elastomers: Elastic films require specialized razor-gap blade geometry (<0.15 mm) to avoid rotor winding.

Condición y requisitos de alimentación

Accepts defective injection molded parts, cold sprues, heavy runners, blow-molded bottles, thin-wall hollow containers, sheet/film skeletal edge-trims, pipe offcuts, and pre-shredded plastic chunks.

Feeding can be handled manually via top hopper chute, automated robot arm drop directly beside injection molding presses, or continuous inclined belt conveyor. Material must be strictly free of tramp ferrous or non-ferrous metals, hardened bolts, or uncrushable solid steel contaminants (hopper magnet protection recommended).

Condición y límites de salida

Produces uniform, clean regrind flakes (typically 8 mm to 12 mm) with low dust and fines content, matching virgin pellet bulk handling characteristics.

Discharges directly into suction collection bins or is continuously evacuated by pneumatic blowers into cyclones, storage silos, or big-bag packing stations.

Throughput

Rango de capacidad

Read a figure together with the basis below it: the same machine reaches different numbers on different materials.

0.2–1.1 Ton/Hour

Base de las cifras de capacidad

Granulating capacity spans from 150 kg/h up to 2,500+ kg/h depending on cutting chamber width (400 mm to 1,600 mm), rotor knife geometry, drive motor power (11 kW to 110 kW), and discharge screen hole diameter (8 mm to 14 mm).

Throughput is governed by scrap physical thickness, toughness, and bulk density. Thin-walled thermoformed skeletal waste and blow-molded bottles grind rapidly with high volumetric bulk, whereas thick injection molded runners and rigid purgings require heavy flywheels and high inertia cutting torque.

Selection

How to choose a model

Work through what you already know. The rest is settled in the conversation, not before the first message.

Selecting the optimal plastic crusher configuration requires matching blade profile, blade metallurgy, machine acoustic build, and drive power to your material characteristics and factory layout:

  • Blade Type Selection (Crucial for Efficiency & Fines Control):
    • Flat Blades (平刀 / Flat Knives): The most widely used universal blade configuration. Best for standard rigid plastics, sheet scraps, pipe sections, and thin-walled packaging. Provides balanced shearing force, high throughput, and is the easiest to disassemble, sharpen, and adjust.
    • Paddle / Flake Blades (片刀 / Paddle Knives): Characterized by wide-angled staggered blades that bite efficiently into high-bulk, lightweight scrap. Highly recommended for hollow blow-molded containers, PET/HDPE bottles, thin plastic crates, and thermoformed skeletal trims without slippage or chamber bouncing.
    • Claw / Staggered Blades (爪刀 / Claw Knives): Multi-point stepped spiral or staggered claw design. Point-loading concentrates shearing force on thick-walled parts, solid molded sprues, heavy runners, heads, and tough engineering plastics (PA, PC, POM). Slashes cutting resistance and prevents sudden motor jamming.
  • Blade Steel Metallurgy (SKD-11 vs Alternatives):
    • SKD-11 (JIS) / D2 (AISI): High-carbon, high-chromium cold work alloy tool steel (HRC 58–60). The gold standard for modern plastic crushers. Superior edge retention, high hardness, and excellent wear resistance for continuous industrial operation.
    • Cr12MoV: High-chromium cost-effective alloy steel (HRC 56–58). Suitable for standard non-abrasive polyolefins (PP, PE) and intermittent regrind duties where budget economy is paramount.
    • Tungsten Carbide Tipped / DC53: Engineered for highly abrasive glass-fiber reinforced polymers (e.g. PA66+30%GF, PBT+GF) or flame-retardant resins, multiplying service intervals by 3–5 times.
  • Standard vs Soundproof (Quiet) Crusher Configuration:
    • Standard Open-Chamber Crusher: The industry mainstream choice for central recycling rooms, centralized compounding workshops, or dedicated granulating facilities where equipment operates away from worker workstations. Maximizes cooling dissipation and allows convenient access.
    • Soundproof / Silent Crusher (静音破碎机): Though accounting for a lower overall market share due to specialized fabrication cost, it is essential for beside-the-press recycling directly on injection molding or blow molding shop floors. With double-layer noise-insulating panels and acoustic baffled hoppers, noise levels drop from ~95 dB(A) to under 75–80 dB(A), safeguarding shop floor occupational health.
  • Chamber Size & Evacuation: Match rotor diameter and drive power (7.5 kW to 55 kW) to scrap dimensions. For outputs above 400 kg/h, integrate pneumatic blower discharge and cyclone dedusting to evacuate regrind continuously and prevent thermal degradation in the screen basket.
