Producing high-opacity white, carbon black, and vibrant custom color masterbatches for blown film converters, the facility struggled with severe downtime and labor expenditure during color changes. Operators spent 90 to 120 minutes manually scraping and scouring high-speed hot mixers between contrasting color runs (e.g., from deep phthalocyanine blue or carbon black to optical white), losing over 18 operating hours per week. Furthermore, fine pigment agglomeration occasionally caused pinhole defects in 15-micron downstream blown films (Filter Pressure Value FPV > 2.8 bar\/g).<\/p>\n
To slash changeover downtime, prevent cross-batch pigment contamination, and enhance additive dispersion, our team engineered and installed an advanced 1,000-liter sanitary-grade Horizontal Ribbon Blender (Ribbon Mixer) system. Featuring counter-flow double helical ribbons, mirror-polished SUS304 internal surfaces (Ra \u2264 0.4 \u00b5m), air-purged shaft seals, and a full-length pneumatic bottom contour discharge gate, the system provides rapid, low-shear fluidization without frictional overheating.
